What is a Water Pump Pulley?
The water pump pulley is responsible for operating the water pump via an engine drive belt. The water pump is used to transfer coolant through the engine using impellers inside the engine. If the pulley is damaged, bent, or seized, the drive belt can come off the pulley and the water pump will cease to turn. If that happens, the engine will overheat.
